Our Industry

Today there is just over 5,000 hectares under vine and over 150 wine producers in the region.

Margaret River is made up predominately of smaller niche size wine producers, although winery operations range from the smallest crushing 3.5 tonnes per year to the largest around 10,000 + tonnes.

Highly regarded as a producer of powerful yet elegant Cabernet Sauvignon, the region has also forged a great reputation for its white wines notably Chardonnay and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends. However, it is capable of producing all of the classic varietal wines and up and coming alternative varieties and styles.
