We understand a large number of locals in the Margaret River Wine Region have lost work and looking for alternative income sources due to closures related to COVID-19.
The 2020 harvest has finished for a number of wineries in the region, with the last expected to be completed by early-April 2020. As they have the necessary staff required to complete the harvest, the local labour hire companies are not currently employing anyone new.
The Margaret River wine industry will be requiring approximately 450 seasonal staff for the winter pruning season which normally commences at the end of May/June.
If you are not already in the Margaret River Wine Region, please do not travel to the region looking for work. The region has limited local health resources and many of our public facilities are closed in order to reduce the spread of COVID-19.
To those already in the region, you can register your contact details for winter employment opportunities from May 2020, please contact the local labour hire companies electronically.
