The marriage of fine art and fine wine has long been celebrated and in collaboration with the Margaret River Wine Association, Margaret River region’s finest artists have put together an outstanding exhibition of artworks to commemorate Margaret River Wine – 50 Years in the Making. Sixteen established and award winning artists have been busy creating original artworks of which one artwork will be chosen at the exhibition opening for the 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon 50th Anniversary Wine label.
These collectable artworks are available for sale at the Anniversary Wine Label Art Exhibition over the 2 week period. The exception is the winning artwork by Mary-Lynne Stratton, which will be auctioned at the Margaret River Grand Wine Auction & Dinner (held Saturday 18th November at Eight Willows Retreat) together with the 50th Anniversary Cabernet Sauvignon featuring the artwork on the label.

Masterclass styled tastings set in the iconic surroundings of the region’s founding winery, carefully curated to tell the unique story of the region and the key varietals. The Margaret River Grand Cabernet Auction and Dinner is a celebration of 50 years of regional collaboration.
Five lots of a 2017 Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon Anniversary wine will be auctioned En Primeur during a Grand Dinner comprising of a 5-course degustation.
The five-course Grand Dinner menu highlights regional ingredients and will be crafted by top local chefs including Tony Howell, Dany Angove, Aaron Carr, Evan Hayter and Blair Allen. Ten Gold Medal winning wines from the Langton’s Margaret River Wine Show will be matched to the menu.
The 2017 Margaret River Anniversary Wine will be blended from the best parcels of the participating wineries before being aged in barrel. When bottled in 18-months the wine be packaged with a label prepared by leading Margaret River artist, Mary-Lynne Stratton.

The Community Wine Fair will be a fun event celebrating and showcasing Margaret River Wine. A thank you from the wine industry to the local community the event will consist of stalls from a large selection of wine producers, a range of food trucks & pop-up food producers as well as live music and entertainment. Informal and fun masterclasses will also to be held on the day.
