On the long weekend 24 – 26 January 2026, you can discover your new favourite wine artisan, as pint-sized Margaret River makers who aren’t normally open to the public, invite you to visit their vineyards and taste their wares, just prior to vintage. Oates Ends

Oates Ends is a small family-run winery, with Cath Oates working as winemaker, and her brother, Russ running the vineyard. The winery signifies homecoming and family to Cath, as the vineyard was planted by her father 25 years ago. Oates Ends is also an operating farm, with sheep and horses onsite to meet. For Margaret River Open Vineyards Weekend, Cath and the animals are waiting to meet you, and current and museum vintage wines will be available to taste and purchase.

Frazer Woods

Margaret River’s original dedicated Sparkling House, Frazer Woods, is open for tastings and a behind the scenes tour of their production line with owner and winemaker, John Frazer. Born from a spirit of determination and delight, Frazer Woods’ hand crafted expressions of elegance and time are made by the méthode traditionnelle process and aged to perfection. The Highbury Project

The Highbury Project is a tiny vineyard nestled in the hills of Treeton. After rejuvenating the vineyard following a decade of lying fallow, owners and makers, Stacey and Richard finally have something to show for their work. Visit the growers and makers and be amongst the first the wines from a new producer whose inaugural releases were in March 2025. The option for a tour through the vineyard is also available.

Trait Wines

No. 1 in the WA Good Food Guide Wines of the Year, 2025 for its Chardonnay. Meet founders Theo Truyts and Clare Trythall whose wines have been wowing the critics. Having salvaged a extraordinary old vineyard in 2019, theirs is a story of perseverance, fortitude and family – and of course stunning wine. Usually open by appointment only, Trait Wines are opening their doors over the Open Vineyards Weekend, giving a glimpse into their careful custodianship and hands on-approach.
