Cosy Cellar Doors to Lounge by the Fireplace this Winter

Winter is a gorgeous time to visit the Margaret River wine region and cosy up, fireside, with a glass of Cabernet Sauvignon.  Several of our region's tasting rooms and winery restaurants embrace the charm of an open fire, some of which you can visit without a reservation, for wine, snacks and a relaxing lounge ambience. Here's a few to explore.

Flametree Wines

Located in Yallingup in the north of Margaret River Wine Region, the Flametree cellar door has Hampton-beach house inspired architecture and expansive vineyard vistas. Build your own platter, select a glass or bottle of wine and settle in on a couch by the fireplace.

Swings & Roundabouts

Also in Yallingup, Swings & Roundabouts is a chilled place for wine and rustic, simple food, perfect to share. Their wood fired pizzas are particularly famous. There's an open fire, great tunes, fun swing seats and stunning views. This is a great stop for the whole family.

Vasse Felix

Many people have the Vasse Felix Restaurant on their Margaret River fine-dining bucket list, but did you know you can enjoy wines by the glass, cheese, charcuterie and even rare cellared releases in their wine lounge space beside the cellar door tasting bar? It's available daily, and no reservations are required.

Lenton Brae

At this welcoming and contemporary cellar door you can settle in by the fireplace, partake in a wine flight, or share a bottle of your choice, plus design your own cheese and charcuterie platter with locally sourced produce from Lenton Brae's on-site deli.
