The 2026 Endeavour Group Margaret River Wine Show, held on Wadandi Boodja, culminated in a Gala Awards Lunch at Aravina Estate on Friday 30 October, celebrating the region’s finest wines and producers.
The Mandoon Estate Wilyabrup Cabernet Sauvignon 2023 was awarded Wine of Show, receiving four trophies, and a fifth for Mandoon Estate as Most Successful Exhibitor:

- Pellenc Trophy for Red Wine of Show
- Tonnellerie de Mercurey Trophy for Best Single Vineyard Red
- City of Busselton Trophy for Best Cabernet Sauvignon
- Vinline Mobile Bottling Trophy for Most Successful Exhibitor
General Manager at Mandoon Estate, Andrew Pruyn said:
“I couldn’t be prouder of what we’re able to do in Margaret River. Our winemaking team is led by Ryan Sudano and it bamboozles me what he and the team do. We encourage and drive passion in our people, and that’s led from our owner Allan Erceg.”

David Bicknell chaired the judging panel for the third consecutive year, alongside an International Judge and eight national and local judges and six associates.
Margaret River Wine Association (MRWA) CEO Penny Dickeson said the committee, led by co-chairs 2025 Len Evans Dux Andrew Bretherton (Juniper Estate) and Matt Godfrey (Cherubino) had assembled an exceptional group of judges.
“We are pleased to once again welcome an impressive, highly-experienced and diverse set of judges to Margaret River for the 2026 wine show, including five Len Evans Tutorial Scholars – three of them Dux of their cohort.”
The panel assessed 580+ entries from 87 exhibitors at the Margaret River HEART, awarding 57 gold, 81 silver, and 215 bronze medals — a medal strike rate of over 62%.
In addressing the region in reflection of his three years as Chair of Judges at the Margaret River Wine Show, David Bicknell, said:
“Margaret River is an unusual wine show because the number of high-quality exhibits exceeds almost every other show in the country, including the National Wine Show. It’s your work, it’s not mine – I’m just endorsing it. The percentage of golds in the show has hit 10% – that’s double the national average from all major shows – it’s quite extraordinary.”
