Margaret River Grape Growers
Established in 1998, Cape Landing is an independent vineyard producing premium wines carefully crafted from fruit harvested annually in our own privately-owned vineyard in the Margaret River Wine region of Western Australia. Fruit from Cape Landing has traditionally featured in many award-winning wines produced by regional wine makers. 2018 will see Cape Landing offer its own single vineyard Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Shiraz and Cabernet Sauvignon for the first time.
Family owned and operated winery by the Pratten family since 1974. This year Capel Vale Winery celebrates its 40th Anniversary of exceptional wine making. Recently voted Top 100 wineries in Australia & Top 5 Red Star winery in James Halliday 2015 Wine Companion.
Deep Woods Estate, established in 1987, is located on Commonage Road, Yallingup in the northern corner of the Margaret River Wine Region. The Estate is close to the town of Dunsborough and the famed Yallingup surf break. Deep Woods comprises a modern winery, vineyard and cellar door, and with its large spring-fed dam and natural bushland is surely one of Margaret River’s most scenic wineries. the 500-tonne capacity winery is manager by Chief Winemaker Julian Langworthy who joined Deep Woods in 2011. Previously, Julian was a winemaker at Knappstein in the Clare Valley, Wolf Blass in the Barossa, Wynns Coonawarra Estate and Domaine de La Baume in the Languedoc. Deep Woods Estate is a Red 5 Star Winery according to James Halliday.
Renowned primarily for it high quality, fresh brews, Eagle Bay brewing Co also produces a range of high quality wines, sourcing fruit from vineyards on the property and other growers in the Margaret River region. Located on a third generation working farm, the brewery houses a large dining venue which also caters for weddings and events.
Retired stockbroker Marlene White and Peter Grace purchased the vineyard in 2014 with the aim of producing first quality fruit. Valley Vineyard was established in 1997 on the best Wilyabrup gravel. Fruit from this beautiful vineyard produces wines of intense varietal and regional character. The vineyard grows Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Semillon, Gin Gin and Clone 5 Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc and Merlot. A small winery will be built in the near future. Bruce Pearse acts as a consultant to the vineyard.
Hamelin Bay Wines is owned and operated by the Drake-Brockman family. The cellar door overlooks a beautiful valley and vineyard vista and is a great place to relax over a glass of wine and light lunch. Wine tasting is available from 10am-4.45pm and lunch is served between 12pm-3pm (bookings recommended). Hamelin Bay’s show record is outstanding and it is a rare time indeed that there isn’t a gold medal winning wine on offer. Wines, at normal bottle shop prices, are available by the glass or bottle with meals. Some great specials are available on some very recently superseded vintages.
Happs is a family owned enterprise that has been growing grapes and making wine since 1978. Some thirty eight grape varieties are grown and a very wide variety of styles produced in their Dunsborough winery. They perform the entire process from plant to bottle.
Knee Deep has established itself as a ‘not to be missed’ destination in the Margaret River Wine Region. The award winning restaurant and cellar door, located in Wilyabrup, is open seven days. Winemakers Bruce Dukes and previously Bob Cartwright, have created many award winning wines for Knee Deep which is rated 5 star by James Halliday. The Knee Deep name reflects the passionate commitment to producing premium wines and creating contemporary Australian cuisine to give a memorable experience. It also reflects the laid back Margaret River state of mind in which visitors can immerse themselves when visiting the beautiful vineyard setting.
Oceans Estate is a premium wine producer in the Karridale area of the Margaret River wine region of Western Australia. Margaret River is regarded as one of Australia’s best grape growing regions. The Estate is wholly owned by the Tomasi family. Their commitment to producing wines of unrivalled quality, that reflect the vineyards attributes, is the basis for all decisions. The land was acquired in 1995 and planting began in 1999.
Located in Yallingup, Simpson Estate is a family owned, single estate producer of premium cabernet sauvignon / merlot and shiraz wine. The vineyard was established in 1998; organic principles are adopted; all fruit is hand-picked and wine is hand-crafted by former Australian Winemaker of the Year, Clive Otto.
Stormflower is a family owned vineyard in the Wilyabrup district of the Margaret River Wine Region. They produce a small range of wines, made exclusively from fruit grown in their 9 hectare vineyard. The vineyard has gradually been converted to an organic farming system, and has been certified organic since 2015. Their certified organic wines were released in 2016. The cellar situated at 3503 Caves Road Wilyabrup is very relaxed and friendly and is open every day from 11am to 5pm.
Walsh & Sons is a small, family-owned winery creating small batches of wine with personality. By using traditional methods in their vineyard and natural winemaking techniques they aim to make expressive styles that are fun, youthful and different to the mainstream. Their winemaking relies on the intangible senses of inspiration, intuition and innovation. By using these they seek out a more informed expression of who they are whilst respecting the purity of their natural ingredients.
